Raleigh Council To Vote On False Alarm Ordinance

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — A plan to make Raleigh residents pay for false alarms is headed to the full city council.

A committee passed the false alarm ordinance Tuesday.

The new plan no longer has a registration fee.

The first false alarm comes with a warning. Penalties would increase the more times authorities respond to a false alarm.

The council is expected to vote on the ordinance Tuesday.
