DURHAM, N.C. — Police in Durham are investigating a homicide on Umstead Street near Fayetteville Street Friday afternoon.
The victim was identified as Jerry Melvin, 15, whose last known address was on Rippling Stream Road.
Police say Melvin was shot to death shortly after 3:35 p.m. in the 500 block of Umstead St. and was pronounced dead at the scene.
No charges have been filed and the case remains under investigation.
