Soldier In Iraqi Abuse Photos Faces New Charges

Posted Updated

FORT BRAGG, N.C. — A Fort Bragg soldier caught up in the Iraqi prison abuse scandal faces five new charges.

The new charges accuse Lynndie England of violating orders against explicit photos and indecent acts. None of the additional charges involved Iraqi detainees or Iraqi Nationals.

England has been accused of abusing detainees at Abu Ghraib prison. She faces an Article 32 hearing Monday, which is similiar to a civilian grand jury. The hearing will determine whether she faces a court-martial.

England is one of six soldiers charged in the scandal.
