Six Months Later, Garner Teen's Death Remains Mystery

Posted Updated

GARNER, N.C. — After six months, investigators have yet to find answers in the suspicious death of 16-year-old Josh Davis.

Davis was walking from his mother's house to his father's house in Garner in January when investigators say something struck him in the head. He was found dead along the side of the road.

Authorities are trying to figure out if Davis' death was an accident or murder. They have followed a number of leads in the case. They arrested one teenager for lying, claiming he saw someone kill Davis.

"Rumor, speculation have also added to the confusion," said Jon Blum, of the Garner Police Department.

Despite all the twists, Dave Davis, Josh's father, believes the next six months will uncover the truth.

"I think in six months, someone will be in jail," he said.

Dave Davis said he plans to put up a billboard with his son's picture on it, encouraging people to come forward. A $10,000 reward is being offered in the case.
