SMITHFIELD, N.C. — The wife of the Smithfield town manager is accused of taking a phone call too far.
Pete Connet's wife, Paige, is charged with threatening Cynthia Wallace, who lives in Harnett County.
There is no word on how the two women know each other.
Connet is scheduled to appear in court next month.
