FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Cumberland County investigators are looking into the death of a group-home resident who jumped from a moving van.
Natashia Akins, 24, lived in Eustler Treatment Facility in Cumberland County. A spokesperson said she was a passenger in a van on her way back to the center when she unbuckled her seatbelt and jumped out.
State investigators were sent to the home Friday. The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office has received more than 80 calls about the home since October 2000.
