3 Women Face Attempted Armed Robbery Charges in Durham

Posted December 28, 2006

— Durham police arrested three women Wednesday night and charged them with attempting to rob a woman at gunpoint on Ninth Street.

According to police, a 23-year-old woman told officers she was taking laundry out of her Ninth Street home at around 9:25 p.m. when three females armed with guns approached her and demanded her car keys.

Police said one woman stuck a shotgun in the victim’s stomach, but she refused to give up the keys and the suspects fled on foot.

Police located three women matching the description of the suspects a few minutes later on Iredell Street.

Jalisa Tyshae Goggins, 18, of Broad Street, Ashley Adell Mills, 17, of Denver Avenue and Krystal Kenyatta Patterson, 23, of Crestview Drive were arrested and charged with attempted armed robbery.

Bond for each suspect was set at $35,000.

    Durham has crime? Thats wierd....

The racist comments are in extremely poor taste - no matter what city one lives in. The sad part of our world is that people of all colors - who live in all cities are being robbed, beaten and killed. Even animals, as we have seen on WRAL today are not exempt from abuse of some kind. May we all have the kindness in our hearts to express concern for victims and remember that the same crime being commited in Durham is also being commited in Raleigh, Chapel Hill, Cary, and other towns. To single out one town is not in the best interest of our entire community.

absolutely pelias- poster should have right to his/her opinion, especially since wral first and foremost advises that all comments are of public opinion! what's the purpose of the opportunity to comment?...

  • Pelias Dec 28, 2006

Racist comments are bad (and I remember the original post). What I find worse is censorship. The poster should have a right to his/her opinion, offensive though it may be.
