Suspect In Durham Police Shooting Remains Jailed On $1 Million Bond

DURHAM, N.C. — An illegal immigrant accused of shooting at Durham police officers is still in jail.

Jose Morales made his first court appearance Tuesday. He was accused of firing a gun at officers during a chase Saturday night.

Officers testified that the bullets came so close they could hear them fly by their heads.

Morales is being held on $1 million bond.
