Durham Man Injured After Being Hit By Train

DURHAM, N.C. — A man is recovering in the hospital after he was hit by a train in Durham.

Authorities say 48-year-old Martin Anderson had been lying on the train tracks Monday near LaSalle Street when he was struck by the train.

Anderson suffered a compound fracture to his left leg. He was transported to Duke University Medical Center.

Authorities say they do not know why Anderson was lying on the train tracks.
