— Many customers ventured out Sunday to do some last-minute holiday shopping

Shoppers hit local malls like Cary Towne Center, trying to find that special gift. This year, customers have had an extra weekend to hit the stores, with Christmas falling on a Monday.

"I just wanted to wait until the last minute because I work better under pressure," said shopper Priya Soni.

Others said they work at their best when they can shop by themselves.

"I think I find it easier because I'm out without my wife and I can just kind of cruise like I want," said shopper Mark Chrstiani.

Many malls across the areas offered extended hours for shopping procrastinators.

Extended hours or not the sroes are still packed. I only ventured to the store for tomorrows meat & I shall never try to do that again the day before a maijor holiday. Not worth the trouble.
