Wilson Board Rejects Plan To Raise Pet Adoption Fee
Posted June 16, 2004
WILSON COUNTY, N.C. — The Wilson County Board of Health recently rescinded a proposal to increase the county's pet adoption fee.
It currently costs $30 to adopt from the Wilson County animal shelter.
The health board initially wanted the 700 percent hike, saying the extra money would help control the pet population. But after listening to public criticism, officials rejected the idea.
