Duke, YMCA Seek To Resolve Disagreement Over Same-Sex Memberships

DURHAM, N.C. — Duke University officials will try to resolve a disagreement with the YMCA Monday.

Duke wants the YMCA to offer same-sex couples the same membership rates as married couples.

YMCA leaders say same-sex couples are welcome, but are subject to different rates.

Duke is threatening to stop promoting the YMCA unless it changes its policy.
