Johnston Man Charged With Cruelty To Animals

JOHNSTON COUNTY, N.C. — The Johnston County Sheriff's Office has another pit bull fighting case on its hands.

Elgato Savage, 26, is charged with cruelty to animals.

Deputies found a dead dog and several injured ones on his property in Clayton. A neighbor reported Savage to police, saying he was fighting the dogs.

In February, a major dogfighting ring turned up in Johnston County.
