SMITHFIELD, N.C. — A teenager will not serve jail time for a car crash last year that killed her friend.
Kristen Gazlay, 16, was found guilty of death by motor vehicle Tuesday. She received a prayer for judgement and must pay court costs.
Gazlay lost control of her pick-up and crashed on Juniper Church Road near Four Oaks. Susan Gilreath, 15, died.
The girls were sophomores at South Johnston High School.
