RALEIGH, N.C. — A mental patient who walked away from Dorothea Dix Hospital was back at the hospital Monday night.
Richard Whitfield vanished Thursday after Dix granted him a one-hour pass.
Hospital officials confirmed that Whitfield returned Monday morning. But they would not comment about his return or Whitfield's condition.
