Nash-Rocky Mount School Board Approves Middle-School Dress Code

Posted Updated

NASH COUNTY, N.C. — The Nash-Rocky Mount School Board voted by an 8-3 count Monday night to approve a uniform dress code for all middle-school students in the district.

The students will wear khaki pants and polo shirts. The colors of the shirts will differ, based on the school colors at each individual school.

There was no recommendation set for what shoes the students can or cannot wear.

The schools will require students to adhere to the dress code beginning in August. But no students will be punished for not having a uniform until after the first six weeks of school.

After the first six weeks, there will be a strict enforcement.

The six-week grace period is designed to give parents time to purchase the required clothes for their kids.
