CAMERON, N.C. — A 54-year-old Cameron man has been charged with sex offenses committed against a child in his family.
Dean Worchester Clarke III was arrested at work in Sanford by Harnett County sheriff's deputies and Sanford police officers. Clarke lives on Whiffen Road near N.C. 87 in western Harnett County.
The crimes were reported by the 7-year-old victim's parents this week. Mr. Clarke has been charged with a first-degree sex offense against a child and two counts of statutory sex offense against a child.
Sheriff Larry Rollins said the case is still under investigation, and further charges may result.
Clarke is being held in jail under $150,000 secured bond.
