RALEIGH, N.C. — Authorities say the two fishing poles taken from an Andy Griffith statue at Pullen Park have been recovered.

Raleigh police say the vandalism probably happened Sunday night.

It is not the only act of vandalism involving the statue. Last month, Parks and Recreation workers noticed a plaque on the statue was missing.

Officials say the fishing poles were returned to TV Land, which owns the statue. In time, TV Land plans to fix the fishing poles and replace the plaque.
