Raleigh Committee Removes Registration Fee From False Alarm Ordinance

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — The Raleigh City Council's Public Safety committee has decided to take the $35 registration charge out of an alarm ordinance.

Under the ordinance, people with alarm systems would be fined if they had more than two false alarms a year.

Officials have not decided on a fee for each false alarm. The ordinance is scheduled to take effect July 1.
