DURHAM, N.C. — Prosecutors claimed novelist Mike Peterson murdered his wife for money. A lawsuit filed Tuesday aims to get back some of the money.
Caitlin Atwater, Kathleen Peterson's daughter, is suing her mother's former employer.
The lawsuit claims Nortel Networks wrongly paid out employee benefits to Mike Peterson after he had been arrested and indicted for his wife's murder.
Atwater is seeking close to $400,000 in compensation. Mike Peterson is serving a life sentence for killing his wife.
