Franklinton, N.C. — Investigators are following a new development in a Franklin County slaying.
Nerskelsky Pastuer was found dead in the trunk of her car off U.S. Highway 1 in Franklin County. Authorities said she was stabbed to death.
Sheriff Pat Green said a "significant" amount of money was withdrawn from her account after she disappeared. He is working with the State Bureau of Investigation on the case.
Authorities have interviewed Pastuer's former husband and have said he is a "person of interest" in the case.
