JOHNSTON COUNTY, N.C. — There was no early start to the holiday weekend if Interstate 95 was in your driving plans Friday.
"I couldn't change it," motorist Bill Beasley said. "I couldn't clear the wreck, so you could either lead, follow or get out of the way."
Interstate 95 was not the only site of a fatality.
A driver was killed in a collision
at the intersection of U.S. 70 and Wilson Mills Road in Johnston County around 9 a.m.
Officials say a pickup truck hit another car and flipped several times. The driver of the truck, 57-year James Parker, of Princeton was ejected and killed.
