RALEIGH, N.C. — The family of a murdered Raleigh woman has filed a lawsuit against the apartment complex where she lived.
Two years ago, police found Stephanie Bennett's body inside her North Raleigh apartment. Police believe someone broke into Bennett's home, and then raped and killed her.
Her family is now suing five parties, including the Bridgeport Apartments. The lawsuit claims lack of security and improper maintenance.
Police officers recently released new videotape from the crime scene in hopes of getting new leads about the case.
