N.C. Lawmaker Wants To Put Cap On Out-Of-State Students

print friendly

A House representative wants to make sure North Carolinians get first crack at a state-funded education.

Rep. Alex Warner wants to limit the number of out-of-state students in each freshman class.

Right now, the Board of Governors has an 18 percent cap on out of staters, but last year, the board considered increasing that number.

Warner wants to take control of the cap question out of the board's hands and set a permanent cap of 18 percent.
