DURHAM, N.C. — Guess Road near Landis Drive in Durham has reopened to traffic following a natural gas leak Thursday morning.
An outside contractor working in the area accidentally hit a 2-inch steel line around 10:30 a.m., causing the gas leak.
Guess Road reopened a few hours later, but officials said repairs are still being done.
Earlier reports indicated residents and businesses in the area were asked to evacuate, but that was not the case, according to police.
