WAKE COUNTY, N.C. — The Wake County District Attorney's Office has charged a former teacher's assistant with assault.
Samuel Stewart is accused of crushing Dennis Ramsey's hand in a school door.
The 12-year-old said Stewart kicked the door closed after ordering him to leave class.
Doctors do not know if Ramsey will ever regain the full use of his hand.
Stewart resigned the day of the incident. His court date has been set for next month.
