SMITHFIELD, N.C. — Authorities have made an arrest in the shooting death of a Johnston County man.
Brandie Lynnette Spivey, 18, of Selma has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of David Shawndell Stancil.
Stancil was found dead with a single gunshot wound at his Revell Road home.
"You can run, you can hide, but when you commit a violent crime in Johnston County, we will extend the 'long arm of the law,' use every available resource to find you, and put you in jail," Johnston County Sheriff Steve Bizzell said.
Spivey is being held in the Johnston County Jail without bond.
