CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. — A man who was mistakenly released from the Cumberland County Jail last week is back behind bars.
Roger Wayne Collins was arrested at 2:20 a.m. Monday after he was found at a residence in Shanon.
Officers say Collins was in jail on minor criminal charges and for not paying child support. A judge settled his criminal charges and told him he was free to go, but jailers did not realize he still had the child support case pending.
Collins is being held in the Cumberland County Jail under a $2,000 secure bond.
