DURHAM, N.C. — Police in Durham are investigating a homicide that occurred in the 600 block of Elizabeth Street late Thursday.

Officers responded to a "gunshot wound" call at 601 North Elizabeth Street at 11:03 p.m. When they arrived, they found the body of a male lying on the floor inside the residence.

The male had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators were questioning a possible suspect late Thursday. A preliminary investigation indicated that the homicide may be domestic violence-related.

The names of the victim and possible suspect have not been released.
