PITTSBORO, N.C. — A water main that broke Thursday has been fixed and water has been restored to the town of Pittsboro.
Residents are urged to boil water for 5 minutes before using for drinking or cooking until test results come back showing water is safe. Results are expected back Friday night.
Schools that were forced to close early on Thursday will be open Friday, school officials said.
Thursday's water main break was the second in a week. On Tuesday, a 50-year-old main on Main Street burst.
