Wake County School Bus Involved In Accident

— A bus carrying 41 students from East Wake High School was involved in a traffic accident Thursday afternoon.

The accident happened at approximately 2:45 p.m. at Highway 97 and Wakefield Street.

According to investigators, the bus was in a line of traffic on Highway 97. The driver of a car on Wakefield turned left onto Highway 97, pulling in front of the bus, and the bus struck the car.

There were two adults and a child in the car. One of the adults reportedly was transported to WakeMed with minor injuries.

A student on the bus reportedly complained of a sore neck and was taken to WakeMed as a precaution.
