GOLDSBORO, N.C. — The Wayne County Sheriff's Office is investigating a traffic accident that involved a car and a school bus.
The accident occurred Thursday afternoon on Highway 70 West near 581 and Rosewood.
According to investigators, a bus from Rosewood Elementary School, with seven children on board, was trying to turn right off Leslie Road onto Highway 70 West. The drive of a car on 70 west tried to turn left onto Leslie Road but was traveling too fast to make the turn and hit the bus.
No one on the bus was injured. The car driver reportedly was slightly injured and treated on scene.
The driver was charged with reckless driving.
