Raleigh police need help nabbing a burglar who made off with turkeys that were going to feed disadvantaged people.

Officers said someone broke into a freezer outside the Family Worship Assembly church on Lake Ridge Road a little before 7 a.m. Thursday and stole 30 turkeys. The church planned to cook and serve the birds, which had been donated, to about 200 homeless this weekend.

Police are asking that anyone with information and the spirit of the holiday season contact the Detective Division at 919-890-3555.
