DURHAM, N.C. — A southbound lane of the Durham Freeway near T.W. Alexander Drive was closed briefly as authorities worked to clear an accident.
Authorities said a pick-up truck carrying a trailer was along the shoulder of the road when another car ran into the back of the trailer.
The driver of the car was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Traffic was being rerouted in the area, but authorities reopened the lane before noon.
