Franklinton, N.C. — A body found last week in an abandoned car in Franklin County was identified Wednesday as a woman who had been missing since early November, authorities said.
Two men searching for scrap iron found the 1998 Toyota Camry last Thursday on a wooded path next to U.S. Highway 1 south of Franklinton, authorities said. The remains of a woman were found inside the car's trunk.
The body was identified as Narskelsky Angelean Pastuer, authorities said. The 52-year-old Zebulon woman, who hadn't been seen since Nov. 8, owned the Camry.
Pastuer had been stabbed several times, authorities said.
Authorities have interviewed Pasteur's former husband and have said he is a "person of interest" in the case.
Before her disappearance, Pasteur took out a domestic-violence protection order against her ex-husband, authorities said.
