CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Three men working on a film project at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill were trapped inside a silo elevator for a short time Friday morning.
The men were about 80 feet above the ground when the elevator at the UNC Cogeneration Plant on West Cameron Avenue stopped working.
The Chapel Hill Fire Department and other authorities got the elevator to work and eventually lowered the men down.
The plant supervisor and two men from the Environmental Protection Agency who were in the elevator were not injured.
The silo stores coal to make steam.
