Fayetteville Police Seek Suspect In Weekend Murder

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police have issued an arrest warrant for 32-year-old Darrell Simmons, of 1310 Chilton Dr., in Fayetteville.

Police say he is wanted in the death of Benjamin Shelton Akins. Akins was found shot to death Saturday after wrecking his car near the intersection of Bunce Rd. and Tareyton Rd.

Detectives have charged Simmons with second-degree murder.

Anyone who sees Simmons is asked to call 911.

Anyone with information his whereabouts should call Crimestoppers at (910) 483-8477 or the Major Crimes Division at (910) 433-1856.
