RALEIGH, N.C. — Two players in the Meg Scott Phipps campaign finance scandal are being moved to different facilities.
Authorities recently moved Linda Saunders, Phipps' former campaign treasurer, from a federal prison in Oklahoma City to a federal medical center.
During sentencing, her attorneys said she had two ailments, including a form of lupus. She is scheduled to get out of prison June 1.
The former deputy agriculture commissioner is also on the move.
Mike Blanton is no longer at a federal processing center in Atlanta. He will spend the remainder of his sentence at the U.S. Penitentiary in Jonesville, Va.
Blanton is serving a yearlong sentence for his role in the campaign finance scandal.
