HOKE COUNTY, N.C. — A Fort Bragg soldier is accused of beating his child unconscious.
Hoke County deputies arrested Douglas Allen, 23, of Raeford, Thursday and charged him with felony child abuse.
Emergency crews were called to the home on Rockfish Road in reference to an unconscious child. When crews they arrived, they found 2-year-old Brinklee Allen had suffered severe head and body injuries.
She is in critical condition at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
Allen is being held in the Hoke County Jail under $250,000 bond.
