Orange County To Take Control Of Animal Shelter

Posted Updated

ORANGE COUNTY, N.C. — Orange County is taking control of its own animal shelter.

County commissioners unanimously voted Tuesday night to purchase equipment needed to stock the facility.

The Animal Protection Society currently runs the Chapel Hill shelter on Airport Road. Its contract runs out on June 30.

The APS plans to take the existing equipment to a new shelter that will open in Mebane.
