White Van Reported In Chapel Hill Not Considered Dangerous

print friendly

Authorities in Chapel Hill now say a white van seen around children in a neighborhood last week is not a threat.

Last week, the Chapel Hill Police Department issued an alert about two reports of a white van driving through a neighborhood located near Homestead and Seawell School Roads.

In one incident, the van was seen for about 10 minutes driving slowly in the neighborhood while children were waiting at the school bus stops. In the second incident, the van followed a pre-teen girl and the driver yelled something at her.

After seeing news reports, some people called the police department with information. One caller provided information that led to the identification of the vehicle and driver.

The driver was interviewed and authorities determined that there was no threat to children.
