Man Critically Injured In Raleigh Wreck

RALEIGH, N.C. — A man involved in a fiery crash on Interstate 40 early Saturday remains in critical condition.

The state Highway Patrol says 46-year-old John Wendt ran off the road and hit a tree.

Wendt, who was pinned inside the vehicle, was freed by police just before his pick-up truck erupted into flames.

There was another crash in the I-40 backup. Three other people were hurt.
