WAKE COUNTY, N.C. — A small child is recovering after being hit by a school bus.
The Wildwood Forest Elementary student was hit Thursday in the Heddingham neighborhood in Raleigh after exiting the bus.
The child was able to stand up after the accident and has minor scrapes and bruises.
School system officials said the bus driver, who was a substitute, did not see the child. The bus driver was immediately put on administrative leave.
