PITT COUNTY, N.C. — Residents in the Pitt County town of Fountain will have to deal with blasting levels at a nearby quarry.
About 50 residents signed a petition asking the town for an ordinance limiting blasting levels. Homeowners claim blasting at a local quarry damaged their homes and a local church.
Town commissioners tabled a discussion on the matter because the state prohibits them from passing such an ordinance.
