RALEIGH, N.C. — A tornado watch is in effect for parts of the WRAL viewing area through 4 p.m. Tuesday.
The watch area includes 30 counties: Beaufort, Bertie, Camden, Carteret, Chowan, Craven, Currituck, Duplin, Edgecombe, Gates, Greene, Halifax, Hertford, Johnston, Jones, Lenoir, Dare, Martin, Nash, Northampton, Onslow, Hyde, Pamlico, Pasquotank, Perquimans, Pitt, Tyrrell, Washington, Wayne, and Wilson.
A tornado watch means conditions are favorable for tornadoes to form in and around the watch area. Review your tornado safety plan and stay alert to weather conditions.
