RALEIGH, N.C. — A measure to allow online driver license renewals is moving forward.
A state committee on Monday passed a recommendation for eight-year driver licenses. It would allow a one-time Internet renewal for five years.
That means a person would not have to renew his or her license in person for 13 years.
The proposal will be considered when the General Assembly convenes next month.
