JOHNSTON COUNTY, N.C. — A 19-year-old was killed Tuesday after a single-vehicle accident in Johnston County.
The accident happened around 7 p.m.on Highway 701 and Stewart Road.
The Highway Patrol says Phillip Hulen ran off the road, overcorrected and ran off the other side of the road where he struck a tree.
No one else was involved in the crash.
Hulen was a volunteer firefighter at Vanns Crossroads Fire Department in Sampson County.
