Durham Police Ask For Information About Hit-And-Run

DURHAM, N.C. — Police are asking for information about a hit-and-runaccident that left a woman critically injured on Feb. 24.

Vonnie Jones-Swinson was walking north in the 200 block of GuthrieAvenue between East Main and Taylor streets aat 1:49 a.m. when she was struck by a sport utility vehicle that left the scene and was last seen going north on Guthrie Avenue.

Jones-Swinson was critically injured, but she is recovering from her injuries.

Investigators believe the vehicle was a 2000-2004 silver Suzuki GrandVitara or Suzuki XL-7 SUV. The vehicle sustaineddamage to the right headlight and minor body damage to the right frontcorner.
