Durham Police Ask For Information About Hit-And-Run

Police are asking for information about a hit-and-run accident that left a woman critically injured on Feb. 24.

Vonnie Jones-Swinson was walking north in the 200 block of Guthrie Avenue between East Main and Taylor streets aat 1:49 a.m. when she was struck by a sport utility vehicle that left the scene and was last seen going north on Guthrie Avenue.

Jones-Swinson was critically injured, but she is recovering from her injuries.

Investigators believe the vehicle was a 2000-2004 silver Suzuki Grand Vitara or Suzuki XL-7 SUV. The vehicle sustained damage to the right headlight and minor body damage to the right front corner.

Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at (919) 683-1200.

CrimeStoppers pays cash rewards for information leading to arrests in felony cases and callers do not have to give their names.
