ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — One person remains critical condition at Pitt Memorial Hospital after being shot by Rocky Mount police Sunday night.
Officers were sent to a report of a person shooting into a residence. They say the person fled the scene and was involved in an altercation with someone on the 600 block of Willowby Street.
Officers approached the person believed involved in the shooting when they say the subject pointed a shotgun at them.
Police shot the subject.
The shooting is under investigation.
