Warren Law Enforcement Officer Off Job, Accused Of Embezzlement

WARREN COUNTY, N.C. — A Warren County detective sergeant charged with embezzling money from the Sheriff's Office is off the job.

Investigators say 35-year-old Samuel Groves IV stole funds he was supposed to use for undercover drug purchases. His first court appearance is April 19.

Groves was fired Tuesday. He had been with the Sheriff's Office since 1996.
